Ferny Corner Shawl- Pattern Release & Yarn Kits
I’m absolutely over the moon that I’m finally able to say that as of 17th February 2023, that the Ferny Corner Shawl is live on Ravelry and on my website. It’s been a long process for me- my brain apparently does not easily lend itself to the process of designing!
This may be my one and only pattern (but who knows!), but I am immensely proud of it. I’ve put a lot of work not only into the design, but also the photos and making it look beautiful. I’ve given the design and the thoughts behind it a lot of time to simmer and mature, and it has become it’s own thing over quite a long period of time. I never put any pressure on myself to produce this- it was quite simply an experiment to see if I could do it.
So now I’ve been through the whole process- designing, writing a chart and using new software, knitting three samples, tech editing, running a test knit, laying out a pattern, taking sample photos, editing them and making the whole thing look good together. And then watching the story behind it unfurl.
I can quite simply say that that I couldn’t have done it without the help of my friends, test knitters and tech editor who was incredibly helpful.
So I hope you enjoy a moment of unfurling with this shawl, as I did!

A note about yarn and meterage
The pattern states 2 x 100g skeins of BFL/ Gotland Undyed (100g/350m) are needed for the main colour, however, I knit my sample in one skein with 1-2g left over. (and the other sample knitters did too). I used 343m of the main colour and 210m of the contrasting colour in the original yarn. If you are feeling brave you can do the same! Just be sure to check the gauge after blocking, and check the weight of the skein of yarn before starting.
The kits on my website will have just two skeins, with spare undyed skeins should you run out and require more (or don’t feel like taking the risk!).
There are a few yarn kits available in the shop- with more coming next month on my Natural Sock base. Yarn Kits are £52 and do not include the pattern- this can be purchased separately through my website or Ravelry.
Thanks so much for reading to the end- I hope you enjoy the pattern if you decide to purchase it!
