Festive Extravaganza and Maker's Market 2022 // 17th Nov, 8:00pm GMT
I can feel cooler winds blowing now, we have lit our wood burning stove and I’m thinking about casting on my winter projects. It’s that time of year- the coming in of winter. It’s also time for the festive extravaganza- a little bazaar to add a little spice to the season.
I’ll have so many goodies coming- mini skein sets on Hearth Sock (Festivities Mini Skein Set below) and on Natural Sock, so so many socks sets (!!!), 100g skeins, pottery mugs and tealight holders by Laura Boyd Ceramics, Alex Collins x WMFC Bags and DPN cozies, progress Keepers by Cast and Clay, and last but not least Benjamin Amos’s new album ‘Letters’ on 12” vinyl in a bundle with some beauitful Uist Wool.
Last year Ben released Joy, which a great many of you really loved. ‘Letters’ is Ben’s first full length solo release. Here’s what he says about it:
It’s an intimate yet honest collection of letters in musical form, from the last ten years of my life. Some of these letters have been delivered, some are yet to be delivered and some, I’m too scared to send.
‘Letters’ will come as part of a bundle with three 50g skeins of Uist Wool Las (160m per 50g) that would be perfect for mittens or a cowl. As part of this exclusive bundle Ben has also created extra tracks as a little gift- three Scottish Folk songs which you will be able to download via a QR code in the bundle. You can check out some of Ben’s songs here via this link
Going to have plenty of double sock sets coming to the shop- I’ve been using these to hold two strands of Natural Sock double to make an extra thick sock that is super quick to make. To have enough to finish these I need at least one, ideally two other mini skeins to do the cuffs and toes. It is a great winter sock and it is definitely not going to wear out quickly! Below is Hedgerow Harvest knitted up (the green double sock set above is Hedgerow Harvest). I’m using a 2.75mm needle for these and a 48st cast on.
Laura Boyd Ceramics needs no introduction- Laura creates absolutely stunning pottery- earthy, rustic and cosy. I now have several of her pieces and really love them. Last year they sold out quickly (unsurprisingly!) and I am lucky enough to have a limited quantity again this year.
Time for more scrummy yarn! Below is Feast by the Fire on Natural Sock and below that is Hibernate.
Alex Collins Bags will also be making a comeback along with her DPN cozies. These were very popular last year and the medium sized project sacks can fit nine fingering weight skeins of yarn. The DPN cozies are sold as a set of two.
There is so much yarn to show it’s kind of tricky to show it all here- so here are a few more highlights and the gallery below so you can check everything out. Below is Winter’s Eve on Natural Sock and Candlelit Banquet below that.
Thanks so much for reading to the end- there is a lot in store and it’s shaping up to be a great shop update.
Happy Winter’s Eve,
Emma
