Galway Sport- Sapphire
Galway Sport- Sapphire
When using yarn dyed with indigo please be aware that is may ‘crock’ off while knitting onto hands and needles. It may continue to crock off with wear wherever pressure is applied. Please note that this is not considered a fault, but the normal wearing process of indigo. You can read more about it here: https://www.woollymammothfibrecompany.com/faq
The Galway sheep is Ireland’s native sheep breed, which was on the endangered list in the 1980’s. The Galway Wool Co-op was started to protect and promote the breed, and this yarn is in collaboration with the Co-op. Please note this is not next to skin soft, but would be great for outer garments like sweaters and cardigans as it is strong and rugged. This wool was used originally for traditional Aran patterns for fishermen, but would also be great for cushion covers, blankets etc
