Shop Update Preview- 25th May, 8:00pm GMT+1
Another month has passed and we are on the brink of summer. I love this time of year- when everything is about to burst open, a gentle warmth can be felt in the air and you can finally cast off the heavy winter coat. This will be my last in stock update until August, so I have tried to pack the shop with as many goodies as I can. Here is the upcoming schedule for the next few months:
May | Shop Update
June | 12 Day Advent Calendar pre-order
July | No Shop Update
August | Shop Update
I have been experimenting with dock (or “dockins” as we call them round here), a prolific weed that grows just about anywhere if you let it. It is quite a pest in the garden (although not in the region of buttercup or ground elder), but it is quite a lovely dye material. It creates a really strong yellow, and it’s fantastic because you don’t have to cultivate it. This is why I just love dyeing with gathered materials!
Over the next few months I would love to slow things down a little bit and take some time to enjoy knitting with my own yarn. I love knitting with other peoples yarn too, but I’d definitely like to savour more of my limited edition yarns and experimental dye colours. I have been enjoying knitting on my Evergrey Sweater (a design by The Petite Knitter) in the garden now and again, when the rain stays off and the sun is shining. I have now finished it and I have recorded a podcast chatting all about it. You can check it out here by clicking this link.
I went on a little outing to a local forest recently that is full of bluebells at this time of year. It was stunning- I also came across a tree with the most amazing flower- the Davidia Involucrata. It was so unusual I had to take a photograph!
And lastly, my own garden has been bringing forth some lovely flowers- the aquilegia is really coming out, followed by the lovely foxgloves!
