Shop Update Preview- 28th July, 8:00pm GMT+1 (and life/garden/ swimming update)
It’s shop update time again! Tonight I will have a lot of Natural Sock 4ply coming to the shop- in full skeins, sock sets and mini skeins. I will also have quite a large amount of Dorset 4ply, with just a tiny amount left for next month’s update- then that will be it until next year for the Dorset. You can read more about the Dorset 4ply limited edition here: https://www.woollymammothfibrecompany.com/journal/dorsetbase
This is going to be my largest update for a while- the hot weather recently here in Northern Ireland meant I didn’t do much work the past couple of weeks (we had our highest ever recorded temperature- 31.4 degrees celsius if you are interested), so I spent a lot of time in the sea cooling off instead. (You can skip to down below if you don’t want to read my life update!)
In the garden we made good progress in the last month or so- lots of tomatoes, strawberries, raspberries and peas coming along. I’m harvesting big colander’s of produce everyday or two and it’s wonderful! My freezer is packed out! We are also building a little wall to finish off the production area of the garden, with space for a hedge.
Yarn in tonight’s update
Anyway, here’s less about me and more about yarn! Here are the two mini skein sets that will be available in tonight’s update:
Natural Sock 4ply
I brought back a couple of your favourite colourways for this update- Stargazing and everything indigo dyed! You can find out about my bases here: https://www.woollymammothfibrecompany.com/bases
Before purchasing anything dyed with indigo, please be aware it can ‘crock’ off on hands, needles or other garments- wherever there is pressure on the yarn. It may continue to crock off after you have finished knitting the item (think new jeans) with wear wherever pressure is applied. Please note that this is not considered a fault, but the normal wearing process of indigo. You can read more about it here: https://www.woollymammothfibrecompany.com/faq
For anyone that does purchase the yarn I will include some aftercare instructions for the indigo dyed yarn.
It’s also important to note that indigo dyed skeins are dyed one at a time- not in a dye lot. I have tried to sort them into dye lots for ease of shopping, however if you are using more than one skein be sure to alternate skeins as there will be variations between the skeins.
Below are all the shades of Natural Sock available.
Dorset Limited Edition 4ply
These are all the colours of the Dorset 4ply Limited Edition I will have available tonight.
So that’s pretty much all for this update. I hope you enjoyed my previous post about my no nylon sock experiments, which are always on going. I hope to post another blog post with an update on that soon.
Here’s a Rufus photo of Rufus looking cute (no knitwear this time!).
